United look to even ledger against Adelaide
GEELONG UNITED will be looking to even its win-loss record tomorrow (Saturday, November 16) by recording a victory over the Adelaide Lightning.
United is sitting at one win and two losses after the first three matches of its inaugural WNBL season.
It had a tough 26-point loss to Townsville Fire in Round 1, before defeating reigning champions Southside Flyers by three points to start Round 2.
This past Sunday, the squad were beaten by 18 points by the Bendigo Spirit.
Keely Froling continued her incredible start to the season by contributing 26 points and 13 rebounds.
However, United couldn’t stop the offensive prowess of Sami Whitcomb and Casey Samuels, who both scored in the double digits.
Saturday’s opponents in Adelaide are 0-2 on the season and will be hungry for victory.
The match at Geelong Arena promises to be a battle of offensive play, with both teams boosting multiple players averaging more than 10 points a game.
An enthralling battle also promises on the boards between Keely Froling and Lightning tall Brianna Turner.
Both players are averaging over 11 rebounds a game in 33 to 34 minutes of action.
Tomorrow’s action will tip off at 6pm.
