COMMUNITY members can purchase unique, handcrafted Christmas gifts at Golden Plains Shire’s Twilight Market.

The event will be held on Thursday 4 December from 4pm until 8pm at the Bannockburn Heart.

There will be more than 100 stalls, live music, activities, food and beverages, the Golden Spaces Summer Exhibition, special guests, and more.

“The Golden Plains Twilight Market features a vibrant array of vendors and artisans, showcasing their culinary treats, art, crafts, live music, food and free activities for the whole family,” mayor Cr Owen Sharkey said.

“There will be over 100 stallholders, food vans and free children’s activities including jumping castles, an animal farm, face painting and craft activities.

“This year, we’ve also got a dedicated youth area with a virtual reality experience, an art precinct which will include the launch of the Golden Spaces Summer Exhibition, and a sensory zone to create more inclusion for people with disability.”

Cr Sharkey said the event is about strengthening the Shire’s economy and providing a way for people to shop locally.

“The Twilight Market is a vibrant community event aimed at strengthening the local economy by providing opportunities for local growers and makers while providing customers with access to a diverse range of high-quality products and nutritional produce in a safe, fun and social environment,” he said.

“Council is proud to support the local business community this festive season by encouraging residents, visitors and individuals passing through our Shire to prioritise shopping with local businesses.

“When you buy from local shops, you’re investing in the vibrancy of the community.”
