COMMUNITY planning is underway in Napoleons and coordinators are looking for input from people who live, work or visit the area.

A community forum will be held on Wednesday 29 October at Napoleons Memorial Hall from 6pm and there will be a free barbecue.

At the meeting, the results of a previously conducted survey will be shared, and attendees can vote on their favourite projects.

“We’ve distributed several hundred surveys around Napoleons and Enfield and we were seeking input from individuals and also families to gather information on how they see our community and what could be improved,” Geraldine Frantz, community volunteer, said.

“The survey could be completed online or by paper… on completion of the survey all data is now being collated by the consultants.

“Those results will be presented at this community forum… and at that forum there will be an opportunity for people to discuss the results and then a process will take place to prioritise the ideas.”

Following the forum, a formal plan will be developed from the recommendations which will be presented to Golden Plains Shire.

Ms Frantz said the community volunteers are hoping to see diverse input from the community.

“The town is only as successful as the people who live in it, and together we can understand each other’s needs,” she said.

“I think there’ll be a range of ideas that come out of it because we’ve got a number of young families in the community, we’ve got a very successful kindergarten, we’ve got a primary school.

“We need to know what does everyone want? What haven’t we got now that would be really great to have?”
