Homicide Squad detectives are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a man in Geelong overnight.
Emergency services were called to a hospital on the corner of Myers and Swanston streets about 2am on Monday 23 February.
Officers attended and located a man deceased inside a room at the facility. He is yet to be formally identified.
Another man, who was also a patient at the hospital, is currently under police guard.
Police have confirmed the two parties were known to each other.
A crime scene has been established and investigations into the exact circumstances of the incident remain ongoing.
