NOMINATIONS for the state’s most prestigious sporting awards will be open until the middle of February.
The Victorian Sport Awards are presented by the State Government and Vicsport and are designed to officially recognise excellence in the sports and active recreation sector.
Nominations can be made through the Vicsport website and will close on Friday 13 February.

Four finalists in each of 18 award categories will then be chosen by a judging panel and announced in March.
Winners will be announced on Wednesday 13 May at a function at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.
The awards cover individual and team athletes, coaches, officials, volunteers, administrators and media personnel for the 2025 year.

Categories include coach of the year, community coach of the year, official of the year, community official of the year, young team of the year and team of the year.
Other awards will be presented for the community sporting event of the year, community sporting club of the year, administrator of the year, volunteer of the year, athlete of the year, young athlete of the year, and one for outstanding media coverage of sport.

“In partnership with the Victorian Government, Vicsport is excited to once again recognise and celebrate the outstanding achievements of our state’s sport and recreation community at the Victorian Sport Awards,” Vicsport chair Jason Hellwig said.

“This is such a special night on the Victorian sporting calendar where we have the opportunity to honour the grassroots heroes who keep our sport and recreation sector thriving alongside the high-performance athletes who starred on the world stage.

“With 18 awards to be presented, I strongly urge all Victorians to submit their nominations to ensure their sport is well represented on the night.”
Ticketing details for the 13 May presentation event will be announced soon.
