A dramatic police pursuit through Geelong streets has ended with four teenagers arrested and a driver still on the run after a series of crashes involving a stolen car.

Geelong Crime Investigation Unit detectives interviewed the group following multiple collisions and reports of dangerous driving linked to a stolen Nissan Pathfinder on Wednesday, October 22.

The vehicle was initially spotted by police in Lara around midday after receiving numerous 000 calls from the public about its erratic behaviour across Melbourne’s northern suburbs, including Keilor East, Bundoora and Mill Park.

Police attempted to intercept the car on Patullos Road, but the driver allegedly sped away.

Shortly after, the Nissan was involved in two separate hit-run collisions on Moorabool Street in central Geelong, before slamming into another vehicle at the intersection of Myers and Ryrie streets.

Despite the series of crashes, no injuries were reported.

The five occupants of the car fled on foot, prompting a large police response that resulted in the arrest of four alleged passengers.

The driver – described as the primary person of interest – remains outstanding.

A 15-year-old girl from Whittlesea was released pending further enquiries.

A 13-year-old boy from Hume, a 13-year-old girl also from Whittlesea, and a 14-year-old boy from Melton were issued formal cautions.

Police say the Nissan had been reported stolen from Coburg North and are investigating whether the driver knew the owner.

Responsibility for the broader investigation into the group’s earlier alleged offences has now been handed to Melbourne police.

Officers are urging anyone who witnessed the incidents or has dashcam or CCTV footage to come forward.
