THIS year, Federation University is doing orientation digitally.

O Week activities for the mid-year period will see students log online for various interactive programs and entertainment.

Federation University’s director of student experience Greg Jakob said that although this is new territory, he hopes the people will enjoy it.

“We are looking forward to welcoming new students embarking on the next step in their education at Federation University,” he said.

“While the format might be different from other years due to its online delivery, we have worked hard to ensure that students have access to a wide range of social and informational activities to help them settle in to university life.”

The activities are set to run between Monday 20 and Friday 24 July with all new students to Federation University or Federation TAFE invited to join in on the fun.

With the aim of familiarising students with each other and the wide range of campus clubs on offer, the activities will begin with live performances from students from the Ballarat, Berwick and Gippsland campuses.

Additionally, the Ballarat Art Society are set to hold a sip and draw event and time management expert Josh Farr will run a priority management workshop to offer student tips to avoid procrastination and achieve study and career goals.

Other virtual events include a fitness class, gaming competition, trivia and an introduction to the University’s support services with prizes up for grabs for those who participate

Students will also have the capability to learn about and join the university’s clubs including FedUni Medieval Battle Club, Sport and Adventure Society, the IT Crowd, Arts Society and courses specific clubs.
