BFNL lists 2021 coaches and players

COACH and player announcements have been made by the McDonald’s Ballarat Football Netball League ahead of junior interleague action.

In footy, Scott Petrie and Simon Geljon will coach under 13s, Michael Dwyer is set to guide under 14s, Timothy Beacham will work with under 15s, and Wayne McKercher with under 16.5s.

Emmerson Hitch will coach under 16 youth girls, while Katie McAloon is set to work with under 18 youth girls.

BFNL football manager Scott Carey said quality applications were received from coaches within the junior and BFLW competitions.

“The League is pleased that all appointed coaches bring a wealth of knowledge, and in particular, experience in development of junior players to the Ballarat FNL,” he said.

In the BFNL Junior Netball Representative Program, Courtney McLean and Kara Hart will coach the 13 and Unders, with the squad made up of Milly Vallance, Ebony Porter, Keira McDonald, Maia Murphy, Kate Aikman, Abby Kinnersly, Brydee Craig-Peters, Eliza Ashby, Nathalia Jenkins and Annie Folker.

The 15 and Under team will be coached by Katie Williams, including Chelsea Oellering, Rose Murnane, Matilda Myers, Ella Litras, Isabella McNeill, Georgia Bodey, Alice Kaine, Ava Densley, and Addison Wright on court.

Deb Hutchinson, Prue Douglass and Damien Mullane will coach the 17 and Under squad with a roster of Katie Jackson, Bella Clark, Carlee Hazlett, Ella Hutchinson, Rosie Todd, Milly Simpson, Milly Sharp, Eloise Wills, Charlotte Cain, Arlee Bennett, Rose Pfitzner, and Annie Cowan.

BFNL netball manager Gemma Murphy said the League is “thrilled” with their coaches’ expertise.

“They are certainly putting this into practice when developing our junior players within the representative program,” she said.

“The players and coaches will put their hard work into action at the Association Championships on the 27th of June.”

Within the interleague football coaching pool, there is BFNL Junior, BFLW, interleague, AFL Goldfields Academy, V/Line and Western Bulldogs, GWV Rebels Development, and Next Gen Academy Development coaching experience.

Some of the coaches also offer BFNL Junior, BFLW and VFLW playing experience.
