Brown Hill on top in The Athlete’s Foot Cup
BROWN Hill has set itself up as the only unblemished team after just two rounds of Ballarat netball’s premier competition, The Athlete’s Foot Cup.
The team that went through last season without a win has claimed the scalps of Eureka and defending champion Dela Oscar’s in the first two weeks.
Dela Oscar’s led Tuesday night’s game by a goal at half time, but the second half belonged to Brown Hill.
Goal Attack Poppy Douglass was outstanding as her team took the lead, then extended it through the final quarter.
The 15-year-old has signed to play VNL for the Geelong Flyers next season and showed great maturity to lead her team to the top of the table.

The other round 2 encounter was a thriller between two teams still searching for their first win of the season.
Eureka went to the lead early and held a five goal advantage at quarter time.
The goal combination of Lauren Jew and Maddy Selmon kept Eureka firing as Wendouree gradually worked its way into the game.
Wendouree Captain Eleisha Phelps was instrumental in giving her team a five goal lead heading into the last.
And she made sure it held on to win by 3 goals, and moved into second spot on the ladder.
