BALLARAT Alexandra Croquet Club was the venue for an action-packed day for the visiting competitors taking part in the Victorian Teachers’ Games croquet competition.

Over 130 players played Golf Croquet doubles of four rounds in two sessions – one morning and one afternoon.

After the first round of both sessions, players quickly mastered the game to varying degrees and the competition for the medals was on in earnest.

The medal counts were extremely close. Only four hoops separated the morning group, and nearest the hoop play off was needed for the gold and silver medals in the afternoon.

It was reported that competitors enjoyed the fun and food provided and had a great day.

Morning session medal winners: Bronze – Nial OBrien and Jennifer Asburn. Silver – Matt Finn and Kaitlyn Foley. Gold – Adrian Beer and Ricky McMillan.

Afternoon session medal winners: Bronze – Tess Nevett and Matthew Hobbs. Silver – Michelle Ghin and Rod Durran. Gold – Bruce Daniel and Jack Rogers.
