CRESWICK Bowling Club members are look forward to returning to playing on their home green, hopefully in time for the start of 2023-24 bowls season.

“The floods of January last year devastated the club and damaging the sub-base of the bowling green so badly we have been unable to get back on the green since,” said club secretary Bernie O’Malley.

“The local council, Hepburn Shire, have been investigating and researching the options to reinstate the green and the council’s engineering department are in the final stages of finalising the tender for the reconstruction works to commence.

“We are so thankful that Webbcona Bowling Club have been of great assistance to us and have made their middle green available for the club to practice and play our pennant matches at their club at this time.

“It will be great to get back to Creswick soon and be playing on our own green and be using the club’s facilities once again.

“This will improve the comradery amongst the players which hopefully restore the club’s fortunes.”

With the final three rounds to be played for the season’s home and away matches, Creswick’s top side is playing in the Ballarat Highlands Bowls Region Saturday Pennant first division.
