LAST week the Melbourne Vixens unveiled their Ballarat Blitz pre-season weekend schedule.

The host team is set to take on the West Coast Fever at 5pm on Saturday 16 March and the reigning Suncorp Super Netball premiers Adelaide Thunderbirds, at 1pm on Sunday 17 March.

The GIANTS will also take on the Thunderbirds at 3pm on Saturday with the Giants and Fever taking to the court at Selkirk Stadum on Sunday.

“The Ballarat region is a stronghold for our sport, full of passionate netball participants both on and off the court,” said Netball Victoria CEO Andrea Pearman.

“We can’t wait to get out into the community with our world-class athletes and bring a festival of elite netball to the region in March.”

The Victorian Men’s League will also play on the first day as part of a jam-packed weekend of elite netball.

As well as the competitive action on court, netball clinics, school visits and coaching activities will also be on offer throughout the weekend.

“I can’t wait to see our community come alive with netball fever during March,” said City of Ballarat mayor Cr Des Hudson.

“It’s a fantastic opportunity for our city to shine and for everyone to enjoy the sport, community events, and the vibrant atmosphere that Ballarat has to offer.

“Make sure to grab your tickets when they go on sale, and let’s show our support for this incredible event.”

Tickets are now on sale and can be found at melbournevixens.com.au.
