CLEAR skies and plentiful sunshine greeted riders at the start line for round four of Eureka Cycling’s Winter Aggregate Race Series.

The 42-kilometre Waubra out and back circuit was tough and features ascents of Mount Misery from both directions.

Divisions 1 and 2 took part in a combined to race, with the riders delivering an entertaining affair.

Jason Hendry and Dayne Pearce forced the pace many times, with Ash Braszell covering moves from all quarters.

Tony Mirabella, Jason Birch and Wayne Klauss matched everything thrown at them for the return leg of the race.

A final selection was forced on the climb out of Addington, before Dean Wells was able to get away and stay clear in the last few kilometres to take the Division 2 race.

Pearce led out the last men standing in Division 1 with Braszell skipping a few lengths clear of Hendry in the sprint finish.

Danny Whelan stretched the Division 4 field in the first half of the race, with Geoff Edwards and Amy Benham able to hang on from the chasers Dennis Shaw and Roger McMillan.

Whelan proved too strong in the homeward leg and rode away to a clear victory.

Edwards time trialled into second place and Benham had a challenge on her hands, when Shaw was able to claw his way back to fight out the final placing.

Steve Linane and Peter Livitsanis put the Division 3 field under pressure early in the race.

Evan King and Jeremy Humber were able to hang on until the turnaround point, before Linane and Livitsanis got their gap on the climb back up Misery and worked together to the finish line with Livitsanis prevailing in the two-up sprint.

King and Humber were next across the line.
