NICK White’s sensational year continued today with a thrilling win to claim his first Ballarat Sebastopol Cycling Club Championship. But he didn’t do it with ease.

There were attacks a plenty up The Wall, however four riders were still together at the top. White, 2017 Club Champion Liam White, cycling gun Daniel Braunsteins and future star Jesse Norton.

As they passed the 1km to go mark, a superfit work-horse in Shane Nankervis magically appeared.

With 500m to go, and perhaps still with some momentum from his chase, Nanny bolted hoping that others would be slow to react. Unfortunately for him, the other four grabbed his wheel and an almighty sprint opened up.

Could Liam White go back to back to back?

Could Brauny end up the road and mountain bike Club champion? Or could Jesse Norton become the youngest BSCC Club Champion in the modern era?

No, this is Nick White’s year and he took the top prize.

In the B grade race, Jason Birch managed to shut down attacks on The Wall to claim a welldeserved win. While in C grade, young-gun Darcy Williams once again proved that he will be one to watch in the coming years.
