NORTHERN Rivers Symphony Orchestra will present a Christmas programme on Sunday 7 December, featuring the NRSO chamber ensemble performing well-loved works including Bach’s Brandenburg Concerto, Mozart’s Divertimento and Debussy’s Clair de Lune.
The concert will also showcase guest artists from the Tweed District Youth Orchestra (TDYO), conducted by Felicity Moran. Founded by Paul “Rabbit” Robinson, TDYO has grown into a 20-strong ensemble of young musicians from across the Tweed region, focused on nurturing musical talent, building confidence and creating performance opportunities.
TDYO conductor Felicity Moran is a piano and instrumental teacher with more than 15 years’ experience leading youth concert bands and orchestras. She also organises combined schools’ orchestral days that highlight student talent and strengthen collaboration within the local music community.
In the second half, audiences will be invited to sing along to community Christmas carols. The event will take place at 2.30pm NSW time at Tweed Heads Civic Centre.
Programmes with lyrics will be available for purchase and raffle prizes will be on offer. Tickets are available at nrso.com.au, Murwillumbah Music (0266 725 404) or at the door if not sold out. For enquiries, phone 0478 012 324.
