YOUNG artists from 11 small public schools across the Tweed came together at Crabbes Creek Public School for a visual arts enrichment day.
Forty year 3 to 6 students developed their drawing and painting skills under the guidance of artist and educator Janet Stone from Flying Fox Studios.
Students attended from Crabbes Creek, Condong, Crystal Creek, Chillingham, Burringbar, Dungay, Duranbah, Fingal, Tumbulgum, Tyalgum and Stokers Siding public schools.
Crabbes Creek Public School principal Brev Belleville said the event demonstrated the benefits of collaboration between small schools.

“By collaborating through the Tweed Community of Small Schools, we are able to offer students additional opportunities in areas they are passionate about,” Belleville said.
“This Art Enrichment Day gives students who have a strong interest in visual arts the chance to learn from a specialist facilitator, build their confidence and connect with other young artists from nearby schools.
“It is a wonderful example of small public schools working together to create rich learning experiences for students.”
During the workshop, students completed a drawing and a painting while exploring new techniques and developing their artistic skills.
