THE Murwillumbah Philharmonic Choir will present its major concert of the year, From Britten to Queen, at All Saints Anglican Church on Byangum Road, Murwillumbah, on Sunday, November 16, at 2.30pm.

The program spans classical and contemporary influences, featuring Benjamin Britten’s Rejoice in the Lamb, a cantata for four soloists and choir composed in 1943 and inspired by Christopher Smart’s poem Jubilate Agno.

Adding a modern twist, the choir will also perform Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen, arranged by Heather Martin OAM.

Special guest artist Phil Eizenberg will join on guitar to perform the song’s iconic solo made famous by Brian May.

The concert will be conducted by associate music director Mary-Anne McShane, with accompanists Beth Brooks and Valerie Newell providing piano support.

Other pieces in the performance include Send in the Clowns from A Little Night Music, There Is Nothing Like a Dame, You Are the Sunshine of My Life, and the spiritual Goin’ Home, among others.

Tickets will be available at the door.
