A NEW summer exhibition by local artist Melodie C is now showing at Byron Spaces Gallery, exploring emotion, movement and personal connection through a series of expressive paintings.

The exhibition, titled Melodyssey, opened this month and runs until the end of February at the Byron Community Centre in Byron Bay.

Presented under the name Melodyssey, Melodie C’s work draws on what she describes as a personal artistic journey, with pieces drawn from her Emotionism series.

“My name is Melodie C, but I choose to sign my paintings as Melodyssey, a statement that reflects my heartfelt belief that my art is my odyssey.”

The exhibition centres on intuitive responses to colour and form, with visitors encouraged to engage with the works at their own pace.

“In my paintings, I give shape to what cannot be seen but can only be felt. What you see is what you feel.”

Byron Spaces coordinator Carl Taylor said the exhibition aligned with the gallery’s aim of supporting local artists and offering accessible cultural experiences.

“Byron Spaces Gallery exists to support local artists and provide accessible cultural experiences for our community. Melodyssey shows how art can invite connection and reflection in a way that feels open and welcoming.”

Melodyssey is open to the public Monday to Friday from 10am to 4pm at Byron Spaces Gallery, located at the Byron Community Centre on Jonson Street.
