TWEED Ospreys has named a formidable trio of Australian champions to compete in the upcoming Bowls Premier League.

It will be held from February 16-20 at the Moama Bowling Club.

The line-up features Australian Jackaroos representative and the country’s current top-ranked men’s bowler, Corey Wedlock.

He will be joined by fellow Jackaroos teammate and Far North Coast product Aaron Teys, who grew up bowling in Ballina.

The pair have enjoyed a long and successful partnership, spending many years bowling together at Warilla and claiming multiple titles.

Former Australian representative Chloe Stewart completes the team, which will be coached by Commonwealth Games gold medallist Wayne Turley.

Often described as the Twenty20 version of lawn bowls, the BPL is played in a fast-paced format and attracts elite competitors from across Australia.

“Since launching in 2013, the BPL has cemented itself as the sport’s leading broadcast and live event product,” Bowls Australia general manager Andrew Howie said.

“It delivers fast-paced play, engaged crowds and unmatched national and international exposure, delivering significant benefits for clubs, players, partners and host communities.”

Tweed has won the BPL on five previous occasions and will also field a junior team this year.

That side will feature junior Queensland state champion Lilly Vardy, alongside Ashton Vardy and Bryson McAlpine.

Later in the year, Club Tweed will host the prestigious Golden Nugget, with Bowls Australia committing to a full calendar of events for 2026.

The schedule will also see the return of the BPL Cup, a club-based, grassroots version of the premier league.

“The BPL Cup is a scintillating format that gives players of all abilities and experience levels a taste of what it’s like to compete at the BPL,” Howie said.

“It doesn’t matter if you’ve played for 40 years or are just starting out — the BPL Cup is for everybody and a great way to have fun and test your skills.”
