Jenny's ELC staff strive to provide a fun and caring environment where kids can be themselves.

HEATHCOTE Community House is seeking participants for upcoming first aid and CPR courses.

Training will be held at Barrack Reserve on 18 May from 9am – 3.30pm.

“The sessions will be facilitated by Access Skills and Training who trained eight community members in March,” said community house executive officer Vicki Forde.

“The course is a wonderful opportunity to be trained in valuable lifesaving skills.”

Key topics covered include responding to emergency situations; defibrillation; bleeding, bandages and shock; allergies; chest pain, stroke and choking.

Participants will also learn how to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) in line with the Australian Resuscitation Council guidelines.

Facilitator Colin Flitton has been teaching for 16 years and working with the community house for 12 years.

“We have always had great feedback on the courses,” said Ms Forde.

“It is great that local people are able to gain skills that could one day help their families, workplaces, volunteer groups and organisations.”

A light lunch and morning and afternoon refreshments are included with the course.

Anyone who would like more information about cost or to book a place can call the community house on 5433 2820 or email [email protected]
