COMMUNITY Bank Heathcote & District and Bendigo Bank Nagambie provided more than $100,000 through the Community Enterprise Foundation Grants and Sponsorships in October 2023.

Local groups including Heathcote Dementia Alliance, Hilldene CFA, Mia Mia Cricket Club and Nagambie Soccer Club all benefitted from the program.

“The board at Heathcote and District Financial Services were overwhelmed by the quantity and quality of applications,” Community Bank Chair Natalie Sheridan-Smith said. “We are so pleased we were able to award so many grants and sponsorships.”

Hire costs for the Heathcote International Film Festival will be reduced thanks to a grant of $10,500 to purchase portable AV equipment.

Nagambie Lakes Sailing Club welcomed a grant to purchase a safety motorboat, emergency rescue and communication equipment.

Branch manager Joseph Mayes is looking forward to seeing how the grants have been used. “I cannot wait to meet with all our recipients and see the fabulous ways they are putting the Community Bank’s profits to good use,” he said.

“Community Bank Heathcote & District and Bendigo Bank Nagambie return up to 80 per cent of their profits to the local community.

“This is only possible while people in the community continue to bank with us and we thank our loyal customers for making this grant round possible.”

The Community Grants Program has supported a range of projects in the area.

Other regular grants are made to local groups such as CFA and SES branches, tourism initiatives, schools, halls, clubs and health services.
