Biggest crowd so far at Picnic in the Park
ENHANCED by ideal weather, the fifth annual RSL Australia Day Picnic in the Park at Barrack Reserve in Heathcote was enjoyed by a huge crowd.
The event featured live music, a free petting zoo, free ice cream and a sausage sizzle.
“This was the biggest turnout we’ve had,” Heathcote RSL Sub Branch president Miles Humphrey said.
“It was great to see so many people of all ages enjoying a wonderful day.
“There was one couple who came all the way from Doncaster to attend. They were passing through last year and enjoyed it so much they decided to return this year.
“We couldn’t have asked for better weather and everyone said they had a great time.”
