STUDENTS and teachers dressed up for a Book Week parade this week at Holy Rosary Primary School.
Dinosaurs and witches, footballers and fairies paraded with their classmates in a colourful array of costumes.
Principal Jen Roberts said the weather was perfect for the parade.
“The kids get really excited about dressing up as their favourite characters,” she said.

“Book Week is all about encouraging reading in a fun way.
“On the previous day we had The Blurbs visit for a special concert.
“The Blurbs are book enthusiasts who encourage children to read though performance and music.
“Their show featured original songs about books short listed by the CBCA for the Book of the Year awards.”

Parents watched on as the students and teachers paraded in their costumes.
“It was great to see all the children make a great effort to dress up for our parade and so many parents coming to watch,” said Ms Roberts.
“The children spent the rest of the day rotating around different classrooms for special Book Week activities.”
