Tobin, Pica net Saints’ major awards
THE versatile Will Tobin and Sophie Pica were best and fairest for Heathcote’s senior footy and A-grade netball teams in the 2025 season.
Among the best in 13 of 14 matches he played, Tobin was declared team champion at last Friday night’s awards presentation.
Pica was a key player for the Saints in the A-grade netball action across the Bendigo Bank Heathcote DFNL.
Injury meant the classy Rhys Bolton played just 11 matches, but he starred in all to be runner-up for the senior footy best and fairest.
Most consistent was Codie Price from a half-back flank or wing where he featured in the best six in 13 of 16 matches.
Daniel Johnstone took on many of the league’s gun forwards and earned the coaches award adjudged by co-coaches Andrew Saladino and Liam Jacques.
Talented teen Daniel Butler earnt the Leigh Mannix Memorial award.
Jess Peck was runner-up in A-grade netball’s champion player race.
Coach Anna Dundon presented the coaches award to Ava Harris.
Reserves footy best and fairest was Zach Brown.
A busy season for Dundon included playing in B-grade where she was fairest and best.
