THE annual Heathcote Country Women’s Association fashion parade held last week saw a larger than expected audience gather to view the fashions.

CWA president Marj Harris said she was thrilled at the response to the event.

“It was a great crowd and exceeded our expectations,” she said.

“Everyone had a great time viewing the fashions and we had a delicious afternoon tea.”

The clothes were presented by Kay’s Classic Fashions from Melbourne and CWA members helped to model the clothes.

“It’s lovely to see everyone back in Heathcote again,” said proprietor Kay Thompson.

“We always receive a wonderful welcome and terrific feedback on the clothes.

“It’s a great get-together and everyone seems very happy with the fashions.

“At the end of the event we donate ten percent of the takings to the CWA.”

Funds raised by the CWA help the community.

“We donate to the schools every year,” said Ms Harris, “and other community projects.”
