Learn the Japanese art of Kokedama
ANYONE interested in learning about the Japanese art of Kokedama is invited to join a workshop at the Heathcote Community House on Saturday 15 June.
The workshop is subsidised by the City of Greater Bendigo Emergency Recovery Hub.
“We look forward to sharing some fun and creative culture time together, producing a living plant,” said community house executive officer Vicki Forde.
“Great opportunities like these bring people together to socially connect in a safe welcoming place at HCH.”
Kokedama is a type of Japanese bonsai, growing plants in a ball of soil wrapped in moss.
“Participants will learn the art of making a Japanese inspired moss ball in a tailored and unique way,” said Ms Forde.
“Everyone will walk away with a beautiful handmade Kokedama.
“They can keep them to style their own homes or gift to a friend or loved one.”
The workshop will be facilitated by Abbey Brown from Kokos about Kokos in Bendigo and is suitable for anyone aged 12 years and older.
All materials will be provided, including care instructions.
Cost is $10 per person. Anyone interested can call, text or email to book – 5433 2820, 0431 328 421, or [email protected].
