REDESDALE Cafe has been restored to its historical beauty and is set to open as Bek’s Cafe on Wednesday 7 August.

The cafe is a joint project by Shane Willmott and Rebecca Williams.

“Rebecca and I have worked together for 20 years, mainly around Melbourne, in catering and events,” Mr Willmott said.

“Rebecca now lives in Heathcote and for some time we thought it would be great to have a cafe.

“Then, back in February, I saw that the Redesdale Cafe was available for lease.

“I inquired and met with the leasing agent and landlord, and subsequently took up the lease in May.”

The building was a butcher shop and general store but has operated as a cafe more recently.

“Having been closed for a couple of years the landlord undertook some significant renovation works and we did some more cosmetic improvements inside since we took up the lease,” Mr Willmott said.

“We are looking forward to this new venture and serving a range of different foods including gluten-free options to locals and visitors.”

Bek’s Cafe will be open on Wednesdays from 8am to noon, and Thursday to Sunday from 8am to 3pm, serving from a brunch menu from 10.30am to 2pm.
