AFTER almost nine years at Heathcote Licensed Post Office and Newsagency, licensees Rhonda, Bryan and Tim Linnell have sold the business.
New owners, the Kaur family, will take over the business on 1 June.
“In the nearly nine years we have been here we have enjoyed our time,” said Ms Linnell.
“We have made many friends and have been proud to be part of the Heathcote Community and attend to the needs of our Post Office and Newsagency customers.
“The loyalty, support and the connections we have made have been very much appreciated.
“We have wonderful staff. Their dedication has been a vital part of our business.”
The family, mother and father Rhonda and Bryan, and son Tim, agreed that although they have enjoyed their time at the Post Office and Newsagency, it is the right time to bow out.
“We each have so many other things we want to do and the time is right,” said Ms Linnell.
“Bryan and I will continue to live in Heathcote, we love it here, and Tim will still be working with the new owners in the short term.
“In November we are planning a three-week holiday to Japan.

“We haven’t had the opportunity to holiday together until now as someone needed to be here.
“We are really looking forward to the experience.”
The couple are also looking forward to completing renovations on the house which has been an ongoing project since they moved from Gippsland.
“Heathcote was a place we enjoyed visiting in the past and always enjoyed stopping when we travelled through but didn’t think we would end up living here,” said Ms Linnell.
“It has been great for us; it’s a wonderful community and we have an acreage with animals, something I always wanted.
“I look forward to spending more time with them and my hobby, quilting.
“I will also be continuing to raise funds for Pancare, something that is close to my heart.”
Bryan Linnell is secretary of Heathcote RSL and is also on the board at Community Bank Heathcote and District.
“You will see a mix of the new and old owners in the weeks prior and after the handover to assist with the changeover,” said Mr Linnell.
“We also now ask that you produce photo ID when collecting parcels as the new owners will not know who you are.
“They are very nice people, and we look forward to introducing them to all our valued customers.”
Tim Linnell will continue working with the new owners and will look at other employment opportunities for the future.
“I enjoy working for Australia Post,” he said.
“I will possibly look at other opportunities within the organisation.”
