Pottery to host market day
BENDIGO Pottery is inviting people to come and see all the wares made by local creators at its market day later this month.
Operations manager at the pottery Kylie McMinn said it will feature about 40 stall holders, most of them small businesses, selling a range of handmade products.
“Some of those are ceramics, we have a mixture of different things there,” she said.
“It’s just an opportunity to have a family fun day and bring people in as it’s getting towards Christmas.
“We have new products coming out with new designs here at the pottery, so we wanted to open it up to give people an opportunity to come and have a look.
“We’re going to have some activities happening, we’ll have some raffles happening, there’s going to be food stall, a bit of music, and entertainment.”
There will also be some demonstrations of how the items are made and supplies for personal projects available for purchasing.
There’ll also be kid’s activities and food vendors on site.
The market day is gold-coin entry and will run from 10am to 3pm on Saturday 18 November.
Bendigo Pottery is 165 years old, is Australia’s oldest pottery still in use, and is usually open six days a week, aside from a several public holidays.
