THE Barn Pet Stock and Feed will host a farm security session on Saturday 20 September.

Sergeant Holly Lembke and other members of Heathcote Police will be in attendance to discuss farm and rural security.

“I came up with the idea after hearing a Country Hour program on radio,” The Barn co-owner William Greenfield said. “A spokesman said that although reported crime numbers were down, police suspected there were many incidents that were not being reported.

“As well as lots of farmers and hobby farmers in our area, we also have many people with weekend properties.

“Holly will be able to give everyone some tips on how to increase security on properties.”

There will be a free barbecue at the event.

“Come along and grab a free sausage,” Mr Greenfield said.

“Members of the SES will be manning the barbecue and we will also be holding a raffle to help raise funds for their new 4WD Medium Rescue truck.

“The raffle will be drawn at our next event on 11 October.”

The farm security session will be held from 11am to 1pm and everyone is welcome.
