Sharing the love

CELEBRATING and sharing, love, kindness and gratitude is the focus of a new project at Heathcote Community House.

The Heart of Heathcote project was launched on Valentine’s Day.

“Our main focus will be on promoting the love, kindness and gratitude that already exists in Heathcote,” said Community House executive officer Vicki Forde.

“We will have some new events and activities throughout the year but we really want to celebrate all the things we already have.

“There are many groups and individuals doing wonderful things and we want to let the community know about them.

“Acts of kindness, smiles and messages can make a big difference in someone’s life.

“We want to encourage that spirit.”

Featured at the front of the community house is a large board with angel wings.

“Everyone is welcome to come along to the community house and take a photo in front of the angel wings,” said Ms Forde.

“We would love everyone to share their photos with us on our Facebook page.

“The display lights up at night and we’ve already had lots of people stop by.”

The project was conceived during the lead up to Valentine’s Day.

“Love, kindness and gratitude should be celebrated every day, not just once a year.”
