STARS & Bars Festival Heathcote is expanding this year to become a two-day event.

The festival will be held on 26 and 27 April.

“As it coincides with the ANZAC Day public holiday, we’re hoping visitors will make it an extra long weekend,” said organiser Lincon Boyd.

“It is a great opportunity for people to stay in town which will be a boost for local businesses.

“The caravan park and motel have reported lots of bookings with people coming from Melbourne, Geelong, Bendigo and further afield.

“We are really excited by the response.”

Stars & Bars brings together a combination of talented artists and unique locales.

“It’s a chance to explore the finest wine, beer, spirits, food and hospitality the Heathcote region is becoming known for,” said Mr Boyd.

“This year we will start with a family dinner at the Union Hotel on Friday where visitors can enjoy a Stars & Bars style show.

“Then on Saturday, the main tour event kicks off.

“The Heathcote Express Bus Tour begins at 10.30am, visiting the Red Edge Winery for morning tea and wine tasting.

“This will be followed by lunch at the historic Tooborac Hotel and then on to Munari Wine at Lady’s Pass for wine tasting and afternoon tea.

“The final destination will be Palling Bros Brewery Beer Garden for the traditional evening session.”

This is the third year the festival has been held and Mr Boyd said the support from everyone has been sensational.

“We are super excited by the music line-up.

“We have The Seven Ups, Nathan Seeckts, Riley Catherall, Luke Sinclair, The Drunken Poachers, Grim Faulkner, Jungle Jim Smith, Bill Barber and special guest DJ Chunky Love.

“Their music has everything from Alternative Country and Americana to Heavy Groove, Funk and Cinematic Soul, Deep Delta Blues and Electric Jungle Boogaloo and some Old Time Rock’n’Roll.

“Something for everyone.”

Limited tickets will be available on the day. For full event details see www.starsandbars.com.au
