HOT Shots junior tennis will start again this Sunday at Heathcote Tennis Club.
Coaches Vicki Carolan, James Villella and Derek Wardrobe will lead the sessions beginning at 3.30pm.
“Hot Shots is suitable for ages 3-11,” said Ms Carolan. “We have three groups – Blue Stage for 3-5 years, Red Stage for 6-8 years and Orange Stage for 8-10 and above.
“The sessions run for 45 minutes. Hot Shots is a great activity for both children and parents and a nice way to spend a Sunday afternoon.
“It is really good to see the parents, especially for those new to the town, watching the sessions, getting to know each other and making connections.
“Often the adults stay on and have a hit after the kids have finished.”
Volunteer coaches are always welcome.
“If there are no volunteers it doesn’t happen,” said Ms Carolan.
“I don’t have a tennis background but have participated in and coached other sports.
“I had a fun childhood with my parents always encouraging me to participate in various sports and now I like to give the same to others.
“It all helps to benefit the wider Heathcote community.”
Hot Shots is free for tennis club members, and it is only $10 for a junior membership.
