MEMBERS of the Heathcote Chatty Community Crafting group visited Heathcote Health Aged Care last week to make lanterns.

The session was inspired by Harmony Week which celebrates how our differences make Australia a great place to live.

“We had a wonderful morning celebrating together with our friends up on the hill from Heathcote Health,” said community house executive officer Vicki Forde.

“The craft group, staff and volunteers from the community house made lanterns with the residents and we all had a great time.

“Lifestyle support staff Carol and Karra, as well as all the residents, made us feel very welcome.”

Following the session, staff and residents made a presentation to the community house volunteers.

“We were humbled by the kind words, beautiful flowers and card,” said Ms Forde.

“The smiles all round made it all worthwhile.

“A special mention goes to Sylvia for all her work and wonderful ideas, as well as thanks to Mandi, Ellen and Jackie for making it all happen.

“We hope to visit again soon.”

The Chatty Community Crafting Group meets fortnightly at the community house from 10am to 2pm.

Everyone is welcome. Bring your own crafts and a morning tea/light lunch is provided.
