Bowlers aiming to bounce back

HEATHCOTE’S bowlers are on the rebound from defeat as they take on Harcourt in Saturday’s division two match in Bendigo Campaspe Goldfields weekend pennant.
It’s Charity Round in the final match before the break for Christmas and New Year.
Play at Harcourt starts at 1.30pm.
An unbeaten streak by Heathcote ended on eight after last Saturday’s four-shot loss to Serpentine.
A great contest on the Saints ground ended in a 76-72 win for the visitors.
Chris Morcom 18 lt B. Long 20, Bill Gardiner 23 d N. Tonkin 14, Adam Luxford 13 lt D. Walker 22, Maurice Lee 18 lt R. Hasty 20.
It was a shot the difference after 12 ends in the Morcom and Long match.
The Saints were down by a shot going into the last end which was won by Long to seal a 20-18 victory.
Bill Gardiner’s rink fought from a six-shot deficit after eight ends to score a nine-shot win.
The Adam Luxford-skipped team trailled by a shot after 13 ends.
From there it was the Walker-rink led from Serpentine which ran away to win by nine shots.
Maurice Lee’s rink bowled well to be level on the 8th and 10th ends.
The Rick Hasty-skipped rink from Serpentine won a top match, 20-18.
In division six, Heathcote scored a 62-48 victory on Eaglehawk’s turf.

The Saints are home at Heathcote for this Saturday’s clash with Strathfieldsaye Maroon.
In midweek pennant, Heathcote will host Castlemaine in next Monday’s match from 10am.
Latest hit-out for the Saints ended in a 20-shot win against Woodbury at Bendigo Club in Strathdale.
The Saints won 77-57 in a match it had to win to keep finals aspirations alive.
