Social bowls rolls on Heathcote’s greens

MIXED social bowls will be played at Heathcote Bowling Club this Saturday from 1pm.

A field of 21 braved last Saturday’s warm conditions to play three games of pairs and triples.

Richard Edwards (s) teamed with Ilona Hutterer to take honours on three wins, 46 points, +21 shots.

Runners-up were Rod Hanson (s) and Ken Munn on three wins, 42 points, +8 shots.

The jackpot was not won.

Despite hot and humid conditions, a field of 18 played three games of pairs and triples on 25 February at Heathcote.

Winners were Rod Hanson (s), Joe McCarthy and John Hepburn on three wins, 45 points, +15 shots.

Runners-up were Chris Morcom (s) and Ralph Scott on two wins, 34 points, +10 shots, as Chris Wallace (s) and Judy McDonald scored two wins, 29 points.

The jackpot was not won.

Grand finals of Tuesday Night Social Pennant were played on 17 February.

In Division A, The Jack Chasers scored a 10-5 win against The Awesome Fours.

A closely-fought Division B contest went the way of Great Bowls Of Fire, 8-7 against The Pirates.

Heathcote Bowling Club congratulates the winners and runners-up, all bowlers who played across the season and to Glen “Scooter” McDowell for another successful running of the Tuesday Night Series.

The club’s annual general meeting will be held on Sunday 24 May from 2pm.

Nominations are open for all positions and forms are available at the clubrooms.

A committee meeting will be held on Wednesday 11 March from 5pm.
