BeArtiful's Pariya Ziakas & Ruth Stephenson

RUTH Stephenson and Pariya Ziakas have been running Sip & Paint events since joining forces in their art practice BeArtiful and on March 21 the duo is hoping to set a South Australian record.

Mount Gambier’s Lenny’s Lounge is set to host the event that Ruth and Pariya are hoping will hit the 100 mark with the Sip & Paint being part of the returning Fringe Mount Gambier program.

“As far as we can tell nothing in South Australia has come close to 100,” Pariya said.

A previous BeArtiful Mount Gambier Rail Lands session attracted 50 and the duo see no reason why they can’t hit that magical century mark.

Running from 6-9pm, with the doors opening at 5pm, a ticket will allow you access to a step-by-step fun and messy painting session with all supplies included; pizza and a complimentary beverage on arrival and a fun evening with friends and a work of art to take home.

“We just want people to try something different,” Pariya said. “We are trying to target a new audience and get people to experience something different.”

Participants can either follow the step-by-step instruction in the session or create their own work – there are three different guided art works (pictured) on offer.

“We are trying to put visual arts on the platform,” Pariya said. “It’s about the experience and being part of an event and celebrating that Fringe is back.

“We don’t have access to a lot of these type of events that Fringe can offer so we need to support them – if you want Fringe to stay you need to get behind it.

“We want this to be a FOMO event.”

Tickets are available from beartiful.com.au and are $120.
