Carols Service returns
THE Millicent Choral Society will again herald the festive season the traditional service of Nine Lessons and Carols at St Michael & All Angels Anglican Church Millicent this Sunday at 3pm.
This Christmas celebration is a service of readings and carols, made famous by the Choir of Kings College Cambridge, through its Christmas Eve broadcasts.
The Nine lessons and Carols format had its beginnings in the early 1900s and its popularity spread such that it is now performed around the world
Today, it is estimated that there are millions of listeners and viewers of the annual Festival of Nine lessons and Carols from Kings College Chapel worldwide.
The Choral Society will perform both traditional and more recent compositions. The service will include well known carols for congregational singing.
The offering at this service will support the Millicent Combined Churches Christmas Hamper Appeal.
