Community grants on office

COMMUNITY organisations working to support wellbeing and opportunity across the Glenelg Shire are invited to apply for 2026 grants from United Way Glenelg, with applications opening in February.
United Way Glenelg’s Community Grants and the Lewis Court Fund support local projects that strengthen communities and improve quality of life, with funding aligned to four key focus areas:
Healthy Community – initiatives that build a healthier community where everyone belongs, every family has food on the table, and people have what they need to thrive.
Youth Opportunity – initiatives that build a future where mental wellbeing is supported, early learning is celebrated, and every young person has the tools and voice to lead.
Financial Stability – initiatives that create a future where every person can live with dignity, security, and opportunity
Healthy Ageing – initiatives that empower older people to stay connected, active, and thriving in our community
United Way Glenelg Executive Officer Nicole Carr said the grants are designed to back practical, community-led ideas that respond to local needs.
“These grants allow local organisations to deliver projects that strengthen wellbeing at every stage of life, from supporting young people with opportunity, to helping older residents stay connected and age well,” Ms Carr said.
“The Lewis Court Fund, in particular, enables us to invest in healthy ageing initiatives that reduce isolation and support older members of our community to remain active and engaged.”
Funding is made possible through the Workplace Giving program via local generosity, and the ongoing stewardship of the Lewis Court Fund, ensuring funds raised locally continue to benefit the Glenelg Shire community.
Community groups are encouraged to speak with United Way Glenelg before submitting an application to discuss project ideas and alignment with funding priorities.
Grant applications open on 1 February and close 28 February 2026, with full details and application information available on the United Way Glenelg website or go to https://uwg.grantplatform.com/
