Doors to open on library cafe
Cafe Seventy Two owner/operator Charmaine Rees discusses plans to re-open the library cafe with City of Mount Gambier CEO Paul Simpson.
THE Mount Gambier Library café will re-open later this month following an Expression of Interest process for a new operator undertaken in late 2025.
Under the new name Chapter Seventy Two, the café will be operate as a satellite site of the well-established Café Seventy Two currently located in the Mount Gambier Central Shopping Centre.
Opening officially on Thursday, January 29, Chapter Seventy Two will operate from 8am to 3pm Monday to Friday and 8am to 1pm on Saturdays, offering coffee and other beverages, a wide range of fresh grab–and–go items, including sandwiches, wraps, rolls, grazing boxes, salads, fruit salads, slices and sweets and a range of gluten–free options.
Café Seventy Two owner/operator Charmaine Rees said she was excited to bring the same high–quality food and service her customers know and love to the library space.
“We’re thrilled to be opening Chapter Seventy Two and becoming part of the library community,” Mrs Rees said.
“We can’t wait to share our fresh, tasty food at a new location and we have some great ideas to activate the outdoor areas and the beautiful Cave Garden precinct.”
City of Mount Gambier CEO Paul Simpson welcomed the new operator to the site.
