Funding boost on offer

STUDENTS with a connection to the Limestone Coast have the chance to receive financial support to further their education thanks to community generosity provided through the Stand Like Stone Foundation.

Applications are now open for the 2026 Stand Like Stone Educational Scholarships, which help local people overcome financial barriers and pursue studies at any level — from primary and secondary school to university or vocational training.

Stand Like Stone Chief executive officer Jason Wallace said education has the power to change lives, and these scholarships help make that possible.

“There’s a wide range of opportunities available for students at all stages of their learning journey,” Mr Wallace said.

Established in 2007, the Stand Like Stone Educational Scholarship Fund supports students studying approved courses anywhere in Australia.

Thanks to generous local donors, scholarships are available in diverse fields, including nursing, viticulture, music, and more, with support also available for students graduating from specific nominated schools in the region.

Last financial year, Stand Like Stone awarded $98,800 in scholarships to 34 Limestone Coast students, helping them achieve their educational goals.

Scholarships can be used for tuition, approved courses and related living or boarding expenses.

Applications will be assessed by a community advisory committee and awarded based on merit or equity.

Applications close November 15, with scholarships awarded in December for use in 2026.

Meanwhile, applications for Stand Like Stone’s annual grants round close October 31 for community projects in the Limestone Coast.

Grants of up to $10,000 are available.
