Rotarian earns prestigious honour

THE Rotary Club of Mount Gambier West is proud to announce that Deidre Herbert has been recognised as a Paul Harris Fellow, one of Rotary International’s highest honours.

The presentation took place at the Club’s annual Change Over Dinner on 7 July 2026, where District Governor Tony Thiel presented Mrs Herbert with a certificate and commemorative medal in recognition of her outstanding service and commitment to Rotary ideals.

The Paul Harris Fellow recognition acknowledges individuals who have made significant contributions to Rotary and its mission of creating positive and lasting change in communities locally and around the world.

Reflecting on the significance of the honour, Rotary notes the words of Eddie Allred, Past District Governor for District 6760 and Paul Harris Society Member:

“Paul Harris Society members, through their generous acts, change the lives of those around us, our communities, and the world to which we all belong.”

Members of the Rotary Club of Mount Gambier West and honoured guests joined together to celebrate Mrs Herbert’s achievement, recognising her dedication, service and positive impact on the Club and the wider community.
