Sensitive Santa program returns to library

December 1, 2025 BY

MOUNT Gambier Library is delighted to announce the return of the popular ‘Sensitive Santa’ sessions for 2025, offering families a calm and personalised experience with Santa.

These sessions will run Sunday, December 14 from 3pm – 5pm and Monday, December 15 from 3pm – 6pm.

Children and Youth Services Officer, Rebecca Coates said following the overwhelming response to Sensitive Santa in previous years, they were thrilled to continue this special experience for children and families.

“We know how overwhelming Santa visits can be, we are providing 10-minute one-on-one sessions that can be customised to meet each family’s individual needs,” Mrs Coates said.

“Santa will know your child’s name, understand any challenges, and if suitable a photo will be taken and shared digitally as a keepsake. We also welcome families to book in together so that siblings don’t miss out.”

Team Leader Children’s and Youth Services, Erin Jones said they were committed to providing a service that promotes inclusivity and ensures children in our community can enjoy the magic of Christmas in a way that feels comfortable and welcoming.

“This year sessions will run during school holidays, with times available on Sunday and up to 6pm on Monday for those who prefer after-hours appointments,” Mrs Jones said.

With limited spaces available, bookings are essential and will open on Sunday, November 30, at 9am.

Bookings can be made through Mount Gambier Library on (08)8721 2540 or booking online at www.mountgambier.sa.gov.au/library under ‘Programs and Events’.
