Stunning exhibition kicks off 2026
THE Millicent Gallery will open its 2026 program with Remember to Dream in February, a group exhibition featuring five local artists with longstanding connections to the gallery.
Collin Tenney, Peter Dunn, Loreto Cataldi, Dale Bishop and Kelvin Freer will present a diverse collection of works created across many years of practice, offering audiences insight into their artistic journeys and creative evolution.
All five artists are prize recipients in the Wattle Range Art Exhibition and have been longtime supporters of the exhibition and the Millicent Gallery.
Their collective body of work reflects a breadth of experience and skill across a wide range of mediums, including sculpture, original woodwork, prints and drawings, oils and watercolours, showcasing the depth and diversity of their artistic practice.
Through shared exhibitions and ongoing involvement, the artists have contributed significantly to the cultural life of the region, strengthening community connection, encouragement and engagement through the visual arts.
Group coordinator Peter Dunn said the exhibition theme reflects a shared commitment to creativity, resilience and reflection.
“It takes courage and patience to continue creating while balancing the everyday challenges of life over time,” Mr Dunn said.
“We hope our work becomes a source of encouragement—not only for ourselves, but for others. Exhibiting together also allows us to receive valuable and ongoing feedback from viewers.”
Mayor Des Noll said Wattle Range Council was proud to support the exhibition and the artists involved.
“Council is proud to support exhibitions such as Remember to Dream, which celebrate the creativity, dedication and long-term contribution of local artists,” Mayor Noll said.
“The Millicent Gallery plays an important role in bringing the community together while recognising the commitment required to sustain a creative practice over many years.”
In addition to current artworks, the artists will display selected earlier works and memorabilia that highlight their creative development over the years.
The Millicent Gallery’s second exhibition space will be utilised to accommodate this expanded presentation.
Remember to Dream opens on Sunday, February 1 February, at the Millicent Gallery, with strong attendance anticipated for the opportunity to see these well-known and accomplished artists exhibiting together as a group.
