One year contract for Ngor Manyang

THE Mount Gambier Pioneers have added experience and versatility to their men’s roster, announcing the signing of Ngor Manyang on a one-year contract for the 2026 NBL1 South season.

Manyang joins the Castec Rural Pioneers following his most recent stint with the Diamond Valley Eagles in NBL1 South, where he continued to show his value as a reliable and efficient contributor.

A 207cm forward, Manyang has built a strong resume across Australian basketball, with experience spanning SEABL and NBL1 competitions.

Known for his athleticism and defensive presence, he has consistently impacted games through his ability to score efficiently and contribute on the glass.

In the 2025 NBL1 South season, Manyang averaged 73.l points, 4.6 rebounds, and 7.6 assists per game, while shooting an efficient 47.5 per cent from the field and 36.4 per cent from three-point range across 78 appearances.

He also showed his scoring capability in 2024, averaging 27.4 points per game in a shortened stint, highlighting his ability to step up offensively when required. Manyang also played Basketball Africa League (BAL) overseas and further developed his basketball game.

Pioneers Men’s head coach Pete Godfrey said Manyang’s experience and versatility will add important depth to the group.

“Landing Ngor at the Pioneers for the 2026 season just ahead of tip-off is big for us,” Godfrey said. “When we were compelled to make a couple of unexpected changes to the original roster we had to shift quickly back into ‘recruiting’ mode.

“Ngor being available and possessing the complementary skill set we were looking for was a double bonus.

“Not to mention his legitimate and recent NBLl South experience. He knows the league.

“Having coached against Ngor a few times over the years and being on the wrong end of some of his big games, I’m looking forward to sharing Pioneers colours with him in 26.”

Manyang said he was looking forward to the opportunity to join the Pioneers for the 2026 season.

“I am delighted to be a part of the Pioneers,” he said. “I’ve heard great things about this organisation and I look forward to being a part of something so much bigger than myself.

“This club has had great success in the league and many great players have come through this program. I’m grateful that I can be a small part of it”
