Parsons takes home medal

THE Mount Gambier Golf Club ladies were very fortunate with the weather with a shower of rain just as they finished their round last Wednesday.

The course is standing up well considering all the rain that has fallen recently.

Players in carts are asked to keep off the fairways and keep to the right side to help protect it as much as possible – it is definitely winter golf.

Twenty-one ladies played a stroke round for the July Monthly Medal, with a putting competition as well with eight ladies opting to play a stableford round.

RESULTS:Division 1:

Winner: Jess Parsons, the Monthly Medal winner on the day had a great round of nett 70. Jess scored four pars in a row from the 6th hole to the 9th hole with a 43. She also had four pars on the back 9 with a 45.

Runner up:Leeanne Hunt: nett 75 on a countback from Val Grub.

Marie Douglas nett 76.

Runner Up:

Christine Morrison nett 82.
