Australian comedian Celeste Barber is taking her show Backup Dancer around Australia and New Zealand as part of her 2024 tour.

At her coming shows, audiences can expect a night of laughs as she tackles topics from inappropriately texting therapists through to what it would actually be like to be Taylor Swift’s backup dancer and more.

“I’m really excited to tell some jokes, relive some awkward memories and high kick my way across the stage with my new show Backup Dancer,” Barber said.

She has already taken her tour across the United States with a number of sold out shows and a performance at Los Angeles Netflix is a Joke Fest.

The comedian, actor and writer got her start in Australia’s largest open mic competition, RAW Comedy, in 2015.

Barber has since found international success, performing sold-out shows in the United States, New Zealand and across Europe as well as at home in Australia.

In 2018 she released her memoir Challenge Accepted which was shortlisted for the ABIA 2019 Biography Book of the Year and published her first children’s book in 2019.

Barber also stared in the number one Netflix series Wellmania and in the award-winning ABC series The Letdown.

Along with her success on stage, she also used her platform to raise $52 million during Australia’s black summer bushfire in 2019 and 2020 for the NSW RFS.

Celeste Barber and her show Backup Dancer will be at Costa Hall on August 30.
