Curated catering by experienced professionals
When Mandy Woolley saw the opportunity to purchase a business in November 2021, she and her partner Nick Kelly jumped at it.
“We knew that we worked well together and with our collective hospitality skill sets and experience spanning over three decades that we could make it work,” Mandy said.
“Taking over a business in the shadows of the COVID-19 pandemic was risky, especially a hospitality business as we knew of many that didn’t survive through COVID.
“We were lucky that the restrictions placed on hospitality lifted within the first few weeks and the phone didn’t stop ringing making us busier than we could have ever imagined.”
They decided to rebrand about six months later, both wanting to put their own unique spin on an already well-established local business.
Mandy said seeing their vision come together as the new logo was created and the rebrand took shape was a very proud moment as the duo became known as Lady and the Fox Catering and Events.
“Being a woman in business, especially hospitality is both rewarding and challenging where every day is different,” Mandy said.
“It can be physically demanding and the hours long.
“I believe that women can do anything they set their mind to in any career they choose if they believe in themselves.
“Being told that you can’t because you’re a woman only makes you more determined to succeed and push forward.
“Finding your passion and turning it into something you can be truly proud of takes hard work, a lot of determination and being open to learning new things.”
Mandy said Lady and the Fox has partnered with some amazing local businesses and has grown relationships with key stakeholders in the region.
“We also support local charities by redistributing all surplus food products which in turn reduces our impact on the environment,” she said.
“From the moment a booking is made with our team, whether it be a box of assorted sandwiches or a three-course sit down dinner, our service principles are the same.”
Lady and The Fox Bakehouse is DIY style catering which can be ordered directly through their website or via email or phone, and can be collected from the business’ base in Grovedale or delivered anywhere in the region.
Mandy said the Bakehouse was popular for home or office entertaining because it suited a range of occasions, from birthdays, hen’s parties and family gatherings to conferences, workshops and working lunches.
“We have a range of packages to suit any occasion whether it’s a sit-down dinner, a wedding or a cocktail party and everything in between,” she said.
“We specialise in off-site catering where our team will transport all equipment onsite, set up, run the event, pack down and return everything back to our base at the conclusion.
“Our operation is seamless, leaving our clients to enjoy themselves as much as their guests.
“We believe that by consistently providing outstanding service and through creating fresh and modern culinary experiences for our clients we can ensure that their guests’ experience is a memorable one and this is something that we can be extremely proud of.”
