Grab tickets to see netball’s best

TICKETS are on sale to see the Melbourne Vixens play in Ballarat as part of their pre-season Ballarat Blitz.

Saturday 1 March and Sunday 2 March will see the team host reigning Suncorp Super Netball champions the Adelaide Thunderbirds as well as GIANTS Netball and West Coast Fever at Selkirk Stadium.

The event is a collaboration between Netball Victoria, the Melbourne Vixens, the City of Ballarat and the State Government.

“Our athletes love getting out into the community, and these events are unrivalled opportunities for us to bring the best of our sport to the next generation of Victorian netball stars,” Netball Victoria CEO Andrea Pearman said.

“We’re proud to be bringing four elite teams from across Australia and New Zealand to regional Victoria this year, and we look forward to competing against quality opposition in front of packed crowds as part of our preparation for season 2025.”

The visit will also include community events such as netball clinics and school visits as well as umpiring and coaching development activities

The pre-season matches are part of the Vixens’ preparation for round one of Suncorp Super Netball where they will play the Thunderbirds on Saturday 5 April.

“We are so excited to once again be hosting four elite netball matches in our city as part of the Melbourne Vixens and Netball Victoria’s Ballarat Blitz,” said City of Ballarat mayor Cr Tracey Hargreaves.

“After the success of last year, tickets to the 2025 event are sure to be snapped up fast, so get in quick and let’s pack out Selkirk Stadium to create a wonderful atmosphere across the first weekend in March.”
