THE Surf Coast welcomed another Matildas talent to Banyul Warri Fields over the school holidays, with Karly Roestbakken giving her time to teach some of the region’s up and coming footballers.

Roestbakken was part of Coerver Coaching Geelong’s Torquay Winter Holiday Camp during the first week of holidays, which saw 120 children participate over three days.

Coerver Coaching Geelong director Adrian Leijer said it was wonderful to have Roestbakken in Torquay to talk to participants about her sporting career.

“When we asked Karly if she could give herself one piece of advice, she said to enjoy it more and to have fun because it’s so much fun hanging out with your friends and making friends everywhere you go through football,” Leijer said.

“Karly is such a fantastic role model and I hope the kids will keep an eye out for her during the A-Leagues Women’s season.

“Karly featured for the Matildas at the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup however has recently experienced some challenges with injury. I expect to see her back in the future.”
